One is quite small, the other one is the second largest city in France. One is inland, the other one is a coastal town that was born from the Mediterranean. One is very classy, upper middle- class and and even aristocratic in the past, the other one is simpler. One is more intellectual, the other one is more commercial and used to be industrial. One is spectacular, the other one is more a hidden place. All these differences make this trip combining Aix-en-Provence and Marseille captivating.
You'll stroll through the beautiful pedestrian streets of Aix lined with classical and baroque noble residences with hand-carved stoneworks, delicate wrought-iron works and spectacular wooden doors, telling you about the lavish lifestyle of the owners.
You will probably hit the food market or Provencal market making the city very lively that will give you the opportunity to get some of our specialties, food or crafts.
Afterwards, you'll have a panoramic tour of Marseille showing you the highlights of the place among which the Vieux-Port and its countless sailboats, the MUCEM Museum, the Romano-byzantine Cathedral called Notre Dame de la Major and the hilltop church of Notre Dame de la Garde from which you will enjoy the view of one of the most beautiful urban landscapes in the world.
