Visit Avignon which became the capital of Christendom in the 14th C, a very unique destiny for this unique city. Walk along the city walls, enjoy a great view of the majestic Rhône river and the famous bridge of Avignon from the top of the Rocher des Doms.
Visit the spectacular Popes’ Palace and learn about the Popes’ life there in the 14th century by walking through sumptuous rooms with frescoes and decorative architectural features of the time.
You'll spend the afternoon in the area of les Alpilles, which includes a walking tour in the quiet streets of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, a visit to Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum where Van Gogh stayed for one year and where he completed some of his most famous canvases: Irises, Starry night, Almond blossom and many other famous works.
Nearby, you'll have the opportunity to admire two Roman monuments, the Mausoleum and the Arch of Glanum.
